About

Marcus Kammer

UX consultant for complex enterprise software — with user research, technical prototyping, and work-psychological expertise.

Companies undergoing digitalization often face the challenge that new software is only accepted if it fits the actual workflows of the people using it. My strength lies precisely at this intersection of people, organization, and technology: I combine sound user research with technical understanding and work-psychological knowledge to create practical software concepts and efficient processes.

For many years, I have worked as a User Experience Designer for custom enterprise software in safety-critical and complex industrial environments, including Building Technologies, Healthcare, and Digital Factories. In my daily practice, I use qualitative interviews and surveys to precisely analyze user needs and incorporate insights from cognitive science directly into interaction design.

What particularly distinguishes me is my pragmatic technical approach to prototyping. In addition to tools like Figma, I also develop prototypes directly in Common Lisp. This allows me to test functioning applications on embedded devices in closed industrial environments without internet access and to integrate real databases. As a result, usability tests with particularly high-quality results can already be conducted in early phases.

To broaden the foundation of my experience in process and system design, I am currently studying Business Psychology (B.Sc.) at FOM University of Applied Sciences. This focus enables me to uncover organizational problems, accompany change processes, and formulate requirements for future software directly from the perspective of the organization and its users.
